Fish Fry (Pomfret)
Ingredients:
- 4 Pomfrets/Pampanos (slice into 3/4" pieces)
- 3 tbsp red chilly powder
- 1 tbsp chilly powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp tamarind paste
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Mix all the dry ingredients.
- Add water little by little and make a thick paste.
- Apply it to the pomfret slices making sure to coat it well. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Dredge the pomfret in rice flour & deep/shallow fry till crisp.
- You can fry 4-5 slices at a time.
- Serve hot as a side dish with rice and curry or as an appetizer. (you can apply the same procedure to any fish)

ReplyDeleteThis recipe sounds yummy; I'll have to try it soon. You listed "3 tbsp red chilly powder" and right below it, you again listed "1 tbsp chilly powder". Is that a typo? Or do you use 2 different kinds of chilly powder?
